Supporting the FREE Postnatal Recovery Workshop

This page explains how the Free Postnatal Recovery Workshop is funded, why support matters, and what sponsorship looks like for anyone interested in backing this work.

You can read the full story of why the workshop exists and how it came to be, here.

What the postnatal recovery workshop is

The Free Postnatal Recovery Workshop is a live, online workshop delivered by an expert in postnatal recovery and former midwife. It is for women who have had a baby, whether that was recently or many years ago.

It covers:

  • pelvic floor recovery

  • healing stomach muscles

  • understanding what’s happening in the postnatal body

  • how to exercise safely and confidently after having a baby

The workshop runs for around 90 minutes to two hours plus Q&A and always includes a replay. It’s designed to be accessible, supportive, and realistic. Babies, interruptions, and everyday life are expected.

The workshop is delivered free of charge through The Dry Knickers Project CIC.

_______

Why sponsorship and funding matter to the postnatal recovery workshop

Although the workshop is free to attend, there is a significant amount of work involved in delivering it well.

This includes:

  • preparation and planning

  • keeping clinical and postnatal knowledge up to date

  • delivering the live workshop safely and responsibly

  • time for questions and follow-up

  • admin and organisation

  • website and email systems

  • designing, printing, posting, and hand-delivering leaflets

  • postage and travel costs

  • ongoing promotion and outreach so the workshop actually reaches women

  • the emotional and cognitive labour of holding this space

Sponsorship and funding help cover this work so the workshop can remain free at the point of access, without relying on women paying to attend.

I’m exploring a mix of sponsorship and funding to make this sustainable long-term.

_______

The impact this work can have

Because the workshop is delivered online, there isn’t a limit to how many women can attend at once. Anyone can join from anywhere in the UK.

My plan is to run the workshop three times a year. My hope is that each workshop will reach hundreds of women initially, and many more over time. With consistent outreach and support, this has the potential to reach thousands, and eventually tens of thousands, of women across the UK.

The more support the workshop receives, the more time and resource I can put into spreading the word and reaching women who might not otherwise come across this information.

This is about access at scale, not one-off delivery.

How sponsorship works

At the moment, the workshop is unfunded. This page sets out how sponsorship could work going forward.

Main Workshop Sponsor

I’m looking for one main sponsor per workshop.

A main sponsor would make a significant contribution towards the preparation, delivery, and promotion of a single workshop. I’m currently looking at contributions around £1,000 for this level of support.

A main workshop sponsor would:

  • be acknowledged at the start of the workshop

  • be listed on a sponsor page on this website, with a link to their business or organisation

  • have the option to be named on printed leaflets and posters for that workshop

This support helps ensure the workshop can be delivered well and remain free for everyone who attends.

_______

Community Sponsors

Alongside a main sponsor, I’m also looking for community sponsors.

Community sponsors might be:

  • local businesses

  • small organisations

  • individuals or groups who care about postnatal health

I’m currently looking at contributions around £100 per workshop at this level. I know that for some small businesses this may feel manageable, and for others it may feel like a stretch. If £100 isn’t possible but you’d still like to support the workshop, I’m open to that conversation. Equally, some may choose to support at a higher level.

Community sponsors would:

  • be acknowledged at the start of the workshop

  • be listed on a sponsor page on this website, with a link

For local sponsors, there is also the option for support to be linked to leaflet and poster distribution in their local area.

_______

A note on transparency

Sponsorship and funding are about keeping this work accessible and sustainable.

They are not about advertising during the workshop or interrupting the learning experience. Sponsors are acknowledged and thanked, but the focus of the workshop always remains on postnatal recovery education and support.

Looking ahead

My hope is that with the right support in place, this workshop can continue to grow, reach more women, and remain free for as long as it’s needed.
